How are you spending this long weekend? While now is not the time to travel to visit Summerland, we have a few ideas to help safely savour this Easter Weekend no matter the occasion you’re celebrating, and support our colleagues in the restaurant industry as they adjust to the latest provincial health orders.
Our plans for our official opening weekend have been adjusted as well, but most tasting rooms along the Bottleneck Drive are open for business! We encourage you to check in advance as tastings may have moved outside (bring a jacket or a small blanket, and be prepared for the weather), reservations may be required, or some may have opted to offer sales and pickup only.
How else can you support local producers, not only this weekend, but through the spring season? We have some ideas below, and let’s raise a glass this weekend — a great wine, a refreshing cider, or a newly discovered cocktail — to a new season and safely navigating it together as we stay, sip, and savour Summerland.

April is BC Wine Month! It’s a great time to celebrate #bcwine, and many wineries will be releasing new wines in the coming weeks.
Take advantage of special offers and services you may find as you’re searching for a new winery to get to know: join a wine club, enjoy offers of free shipping or curbside pickup, or add a bottle to your takeout or delivery order from a restaurant, if available.
Post your bottles with the tags #bcwine and #bcwinemonth. Follow us on IG.
Our friends and colleagues at Visit Summerland and the Summerland Chamber of Commerce have just launched Savour Summerland, where you can find ideas to safely stay local and enjoy the many flavours of our charming town.
You’ll find a list of restaurants and their current services, suggestions to explore the great outdoors, and check out the creative side of Summerland. Share your local love with the hashtag #savoursummerland.
If you’re enjoying something tasty in your glass, tag us too with #sipsavoursummerland.
Have you had an excellent experience at a local restaurant?
Nominate a restaurant worker for recognition through the BC Restaurant and Food Services Association’s #standupforservice campaign.
Until May 23 you can visit BCRFA.com and share stories of colleagues, servers, cooks, friends, or businesses who are providing a welcoming and unique dining experience while following best practices to combat COVID-19. Nominating is easily done online. Our member Sumac Ridge is a partner in this program, offering gift cards to the weekly winners.
